Before Jesus Changed My Life

Before Jesus, I was lost. I grew up in a lukewarm Christian family where we went to Church every Christmas and Easter. Before Jesus, I felt lost. Never feeling truly happy and fulfilled. I had no reason not to feel this way since my life has been blessed. I grew up as a healthy, active child, and my parents spoiled me. I felt like something was missing. I tried to fill this void with sinning and making poor decisions, but ended up just making things worse for myself. I fell into a pit and felt like I had no way out. I didn’t seek the Lord for help and ended up digging a deeper and deeper hole. I started going to Church in the middle of 2024 and started to find myself feeling happier, but I never gave my life to the Lord.

How Jesus Changed My Life

After reading and seeking the word of God, I felt happier and at more peace. In the last month, my fiancé and I started going to marriage counseling with a couple who are strong believers. A question that the husband asked me is, “When you die, where are you going to go?” I was at a loss for words. I didn’t know, and I felt a terrible guilt that I had not been enough. The couple shared with me that through the confession that Jesus is your king and died for your sins and was raised from the dead by God, and that by surrendering yourself to the Lord, you have the gift of eternal life. This shocked me because I had been reading my Bible a lot and never understood. I felt like I wasn’t doing enough to deserve eternal life. They showed me by grace through faith that I have the gift of the Lord. The couple sent me Bible verses such as John 3: 16-17, Ephesians 2:9, Romans 3:23, Romans 9-10, and Romans 10:13. That night, I decided to give my life to Christ and to proclaim that the Lord is my savior and that in my heart I confess Jesus as my father.

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

Since that moment, my desire to sin and conform to the world has become a fraction of the size that it used to be. I used to feel as though I wasn’t enough, but the Lord showed me his love and showed me that I am enough. My hope is found through the word of God and his ability to show me the vast amount of love that he has for me. He reveals more and more of himself every day to me. Every day, my desire to follow the Lord and to glorify him grows. The Lord has shown me through John 3:16-17, Romans 6:23, and Romans 6:13-14 that even though I’m a sinner, no works that I could ever do will ever give me eternal life, and it's only through Jesus that I am saved.
