Before Jesus Changed My Life
I was in a relationship with a man who did not treat me well at all, but I was so obsessed with the idea of being in a relationship that I was willing to put up with it. I became someone I was not proud of. I partied a lot, and I committed sexual sins. I was still going to church, but I viewed it as a chore. When this relationship ended, I felt broken and didn’t know what my purpose was in life, and felt very alone for quite some time. I was struggling for a while and didn’t really know what to do, until I came to know Jesus.
How Jesus Changed My Life
During my freshman year of college, my friend invited me to Salt Company, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever because it was a bunch of people my age coming together to praise Jesus and proudly know God. I attended Salt a few more times that year but did not fully commit. After the period when my relationship ended, Jesus called me to come home. I remember driving home one day, and I just felt Jesus there with me, guiding me, telling me to open my heart to him and let him guide me. After that car ride, I gave my life to Jesus, and I recognized that I had been saved. I started wanting to attend church regularly, and I purchased my very own Bible, which to this day is one of my favorite days ever. I get to open it each day, read God’s word, and grow closer to him. Specific verses that drew me in were 1 Corinthians 13:4, Matthew 28:18-20, Genesis 1:10, and John 4:27. I feel called to share the Word with others and help others know Jesus. The gospel is the good news that tells us the story of how Jesus lived and how his death saved us from our own sin. Jesus gave us a new heart and allowed us to be given a new life and the gospels tell that story along with all of Jesus’ teachings that he shared with his disciples and encouraged them to share with everyone in all the nations. Scripture: Ephesians 2:8-10. We have been saved by Jesus’ grace.
My Life After Jesus Saved Me
My life is different because I can share Jesus with others while continuing to be transformed by Him and growing closer to God. I became a member of FCA on my campus and have found a solid group of people who have also been saved which helps me pursue others and hold me accountable within my faith. Aaron, our FCA leader, and Bradie, my prior C group leader, have been great guides in my Christian life. Jesus has saved me, and I no longer fear death because he has forgiven me for all of my sins.
