Before Jesus Changed My Life

For the past few years I pushed myself away from faith. I was full of anxiety and worry about the unknown. I would constantly worry about the next day and forget to be thankful for the current moment. I spent my life hoping I would accomplish certain goals, but as they came to be I wouldn't recognize they were happening.

How Jesus Changed My Life

I saw how joyful my loved ones were and strived for that same joy. I tried to find it in materialistic things, but I couldn't. After a few years of actively pursuing the world, instead of Christ, I realized it was not possible to find the same joy. One day I opened my Bible from high school and saw my bible study notes, highlighted scriptures, prayers, and celebrations and remembered the peace I felt when Jesus was the one I pursued. One verse that stood out to me was Romans 9:25- "I'll call the unloved and make them beloved." During my years of not pursuing the truth, I often felt unlovable. I constantly felt like a burden to those around me. This was a verse that my grandma had shared with me as a child in regards to someone we had encountered, but it felt more true about me at this time. That day I bought a new bible so that I could start fresh and relearn the basics to remind myself of the love and importance of Jesus.

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

I am more joyful and willing to go into each day with peace of what is to come. I am able to enjoy the gifts God has given me and sit in the fact that He is the reason I have accomplished my dreams. I have been turning to Luke 1:45- "Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!" It reminds me that despite having dreams of what my future would hold, they were ultimately God's promises and Him calling me to certain roles. He will continue to fulfill His promise to love me and hold me, no matter the circumstances.
