Before Jesus Changed My Life

Before Jesus changed my life, I was super heavy into partying and drinking. I was always looking to stay out as late as possible, going to clubs and bars for pleasure and enjoyment. Before Jesus, these things that I pursued for joy and fulfillment would fade so quickly into shame, and I tried to fill that shame with money, girls, drinking, and social media. It was a cycle of momentary happiness followed by giant pits of despair and shame. What I thought would bring me joy and happiness actually left me empty.

How Jesus Changed My Life

Jesus changed my life forever. Through God’s grace, I have found that Jesus was the joy and fulfillment that I sought through money, girls, drinking, etc. I have gotten close to Him through repentance, praying, and fellowship. I attend Salt every Thursday and church every Sunday. I am a part of a connection group and I am taking the class Gospel 101. But I could not have done this on my own. I can see that it was very clear I had people praying for me. God used the people in my environment to point me towards this new life in Christ. My neighbors first brought me to Salt, my friends first introduced me to bible study, and a random person who I sat next to at Salt let me in their connection group. I always knew about God, but I didn’t know Him personally or have a relationship with Him. And that is why I take evangelism so importantly. Because without someone planting seeds, how is the word supposed to spread? So I tell the gospel to everyone I meet, coworkers, family, people at the gym, and people in the hallway at the mall. Anywhere I go, I want to tell people about the good news, because maybe that seed, as small as a mustard seed, will grow into a full Christian faith.

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

My life now is completely different then before I knew Christ. I am filled with joy from His word, and I never feel alone because He is always with me. Because of this newfound joy, I now proclaim the gospel everywhere I go. Jesus calls us to cast out seeds, and some will land on good soil and some will not, but that is not our worry; God is to water the ones that do fall on good soil. Through God's strength, I have now turned away from my sinful past and lead a life walking with Christ, and walking like Christ. In times of need, I always turn to 2 things: prayer, because I have seen prayer work miracles; and, secondly, community and confession of sin to fellow disciples bring my sin from the dark into the light, and Jesus can tackle it through me from the light. The life I live now feels like the most joyful, most fulfilling path I could have ever imagined going down. I have learned that being content in my salvation is greater than the greatest peak of my sinful past.
